VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Kia ora!
I’m Tracey, a volunteer running this Animal Rescue Farm for the past 12 years — and I’m now looking for extra helping hands, especially during the busy spring season.

This coastal property is home to rescued animals, native trees, abundant birdlife, and a developing public Native Walkway created in partnership with the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.

If you love animals, nature, and meaningful outdoor work, you’ll feel right at home here.

To make the experience meaningful for everyone, a 10 days minimum stay is asked.

Volunteers help around 4 hours per day with:

  • Feeding and caring for rescued animals (morning & afternoon)
  • Gardening and “releasing” native trees from weeds
  • Light maintenance and outdoor projects
  • Helping maintain the property and walkway

Teamwork and flexibility are key — we organise together so you can also enjoy time off to explore.

Simple, comfortable farm-style accommodation with:

  • Beds, shower, toilet, small kitchen
  • Shared communal kitchen
  • Space for vans if needed

This is real farm life — clean, simple, and close to nature.

Please bring your own groceries and eco-friendly toiletries.
Shops are only 7 minutes away.

You’re welcome to enjoy fresh eggs, garden produce, and shared BBQs from time to time.

Enjoy beach walks, birdlife, sunsets over the estuary, and relaxing outdoor living with other volunteers.
